How long have you been a member of PUSH?
It will be a year in November
What made you choose PUSH over other gyms in the area?
As someone who works crazy hours the 24 hour access was a huge selling point!
What is your favorite thing(s) about working out at PUSH? Has your experience been different in any way than experiences you've had at prior facilities?
PUSH is night and day from other gyms in the area. The staff there is incredible and genuine. I have never felt out of place or uncomfortable there. Where other gyms put pressure on you to meet their expectations PUSH makes it about you. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The atmosphere is motivating and the encouragement from the staff is what keeps me coming back for more. Also my trainer Laura is what keeps pushing me to do more.
What was the experience or motivating factor that compelled you to join PUSH? Was there someone who influenced you to join?
I attended a wedding right before I joined and the pictures from that wedding made me cringe. I had been a lifelong gym member elsewhere but clearly something wasn't going right. I had always been the "big girl" of the group and knew it was time for a change. I was also in the process of changing jobs so I wanted a fresh start.
What is your favorite exercise or thing to do at PUSH?
I love anything that challenges me and makes me think oh I can't do that. It turns out I can. I love squats, deadlifts and anything that my wonderful trainer Laura throws at me.
What fitness goals do you have for yourself going forward?
I want to master the Romanian Deadlift! Really my focus is improving and adding weight to my squats and deadlifts.
What is your profession?
I am a registered nurse at Strong. After working in the medical ICU for 3 years I recently moved to the PACU aka the recovery room. I manage post op patients recovering from all sorts of surgeries.
Are you married? Kids? Pets?
Currently not married nor do I have kids. But I do have two dogs named Linus and Lucy that keep me busy!
What do you do in your spare time? Provide us with some fun facts about yourself:
I take pottery class once a week in Fairport. I have quite a few tattoos with different themes so I love adding to each spot when I can. I also visit friends in other cities every opportunity I can
What is your guilty pleasure? (TV show, sweet treat, etc.)?
I'm a huge fan of professional wrestling thanks to my older brother, so that is a definite guilty pleasure. Food wise I love a good plate of Chicken French as a cheat meal
If you could spend the day with one person (living or not) who would it be and why?
It's a tie I would say my grandmothers. They both passed away when I was young so I would love to fill them in on all my adventures I have had.
What is your dream vacation spot?
I would love to explore Ireland, Scotland and England.
If you win the lottery, what's the first thing you buy?
Nerd Alert: All access premiere travel packages to Wrestlemania for my brother and I.
What is your favorite book or movie?
Hands down Harry Potter.
What makes you laugh the most?
Anytime my entire family is together or I'm reunited with my friends who live far away. Also my co-workers, a lot can happen in a 12 hour shift so we keep each other sane with laughter.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
My moms spaghetti and meatballs.
Is there is anything else that you would like to tell us about yourself?
I went to Johns Hopkins for my nursing degree but if I could do it all over again I would probably be a professional wrestler.
